House for 8
Phase IV of a series of adaptive works to an early 20th century terrace house in Dublin carried out over a span of two decades to meet the needs of a growing family.
Phase I carried out in the late 1980’s converted the house from multiple flats to a single-family house. 17 years and 5 children later the house had become claustrophobic with its small crowded kitchen/dining room and single bathroom. The final phase extended sideways into the side passage and out into the garden to created a large bright contemporary kitchen/dining/family room with bedroom and bathroom above, utility behind. Teens hang out in the depth of the house.
