PARALLEL COTTAGE
Two cottages, one old and one new, slide past each other to capture the sun, to provide shelter from the Atlantic winds and to open up to seascapes, low lying bogs and distant mountains.
The stone cottage raised in height and lengthened to provide east facing bedrooms, warmed to the south by a glazed corridor. A new sheltered entrance links old to new. The new parallel cottage sliding past with kitchen/dining south and west opening onto a sun yard; a sliding screen opens into the new living area facing east and west and north; bogs, mountains and sea.
